Surreal experience!

Of all the things I got floored by a computer generated hand problem called carpal tunnel syndrome. When I shared this with many , they seemed to know something about this except that almoat all of them called it corporate tunnel syndrome . I landed up on the surgical table of an expert hand surgeon who said he would relieve the entangled wrist nerve which he did .

My left hand was locally anaesthetised and it was hanging limp by my side for close to 8 hours . No sensation . No pain . Hung like a heavy iron . It was almost like looking at a 'dead 'hand . After those long hours of dead feeling I attempted ( or willed in my mind) to move my fingers on the left hand . For a time nothing happened but after some time I was watching that I could move my middle finger a little .. just a wee bit. But there was still no senasation in any other part of the left hand .

Then i noticed a strange thing! When my limp left hand was taken away to my side or to my back or above my head ( using some external help) and I attempted to move my fingers I actually felt the movement in space just above my lap. In the space ! I tried many times moving the 'dead hand' to many positions and everytime the sensation of the movement of the fingers were felt just above my lap , in space .

I told this starnge experience to my surgeon who casually commented that many patients say so. he simply dismissed it .

I wonder whether other peeple have had sycu strange experince.
